Here’s Your New Moon in Cancer Horoscope

Updated: Jul 19, 2020

"New moons are equivalent to a blank canvas. Every new moon is an opportunity to embrace enthusiastic beginnings in your life."

We’ve concluded Eclipse season and Mercury has finally gone direct until later this year for his final retrograde transit. Now we embrace July’s Cancer new moon on the 20th. Although this lunar cycle isn’t an eclipse, you’ll want to take into consideration that eclipse energy lasts for up to six months, which won’t make this new moon as easy as we’d aspire it to be.

New moons are equivalent to a blank canvas. Every new moon is an opportunity to embrace enthusiastic beginnings in your life. If you’re new to lunar cycles, you’ll want to remember that new moons are all about fresh starts and an optimistic approach.

The moon will be in the sign of Cancer on July 20th sitting beside our solar sun and accompanied by Mercury. The cosmos will be active as this new moon is in opposition (complete opposite of) Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn, all of which are chillin’ in the sign of Capricorn. As a result, this entire scenario has the potential to create some discomfort. However, growth doesn’t stem from a place of comfort, does it? Change is always rooted in direct result of expansion, and that is what this Cancer new moon will help you manifest. Uncomfortable growth.

With both Chiron and Mars hanging out in Aries (a Fire sign), this new moon is equal parts influenced by the elements of Earth, Fire and Water. Meaning, you’ll want to check for those elements in your natal chart and analyze which houses will be affected by this celestial symphony. Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Capricorn and Libra will likely experience the most transformation come July 20th.

As this Cancer new moon relates to America, this lunar cycle will be sitting in America’s first house of identity. The affects of this new moon will be amplified by fearless Mars in Aries. This Cancer new moon can expose the continued clash of the removal of outdated structures of the Patriarchy – courtesy of Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. Pluto is the planet of secrecy, sex and mystery. Saturn is the Father archetype and the Lord of Karma. Add in Jupiter who is also creating alchemy in Capricorn and you have yourself a spiritual liberation. Expect America’s dirty laundry to be aired in order to shape-shift her controversial roots. Mars and Chiron will examine and continue to push the envelope with the determination of encouraging America to rewrite her public image and view of masculinity.

With this new moon, don’t hesitate to expand in uncharted territory. This is a time to create. With Saturn’s heavy influence, things might be slow moving. Keep in mind, things built to last aren’t manifested overnight. Practice patience, release control, and go with the flow.
